This very comfortable home has blue water ocean view from the deck. Nicely furnished and quiet. At the top of Park Hill, just a short walk to the upper ranch trail and only 1/2 mile to Shamel Park and the ocean. This is a split level home. The upstairs is the main part of the house including the master bedroom and bathroom. The living room, dining area and kitchen are upstairs as well as a half bathroom. The downstairs consists of the two other bedrooms and a separate tv room.

  We will definitely consider staying here again, the house was very clean and comfortable, exactly as described online in the perfect location for walking down the (steep) hill to the beach and going for a quick drive into town. Bonus was being able to park in the garage since it was raining while we were there. Lots of nice little touches such as flashlights next to every bed. Nice to have two coffee machines available but we couldn't find any coffee in the cabinets (perhaps previous renters used it up and it just hadn't been replaced?). One funny quirk is the master bathroom window setup -- one might not want to take a shower or a bath at nighttime as the neighbor's can see your outline with the lights behind you. But overall a wonderful rental and would definitely come back!

  The house is comfortable enough, with a king in the master, a queen in the 2nd bedroom, and two twins in the 3rd. We used the "TV room" for our grandbaby in his portable crib. It was a good house for us because I did not feel worried about precious knick knacks or pristine furniture. It just felt relaxed, in that regard. The Master is on the second floor with the kitchen, dining, and living area. The other rooms are on the first floor. Apparently, you can hear people walking around and cupboards opening and closing very well when in those rooms. There is a deck with a table and chairs for outside dining, which we used only once and in the middle of the day because evenings were chilly when we were there. The back yard is not much to speak of, but worked well for the dog. The view of the ocean is a peek-a-boo view. At night in the master you can hear the waves crashing in the distance. We did one walk to the coast, but with the little ones it was a push because the street is very steep, the climb home being tough for some of our group. There is a beautiful community park called Shamel within walking or a short drive distance. The beach is right there, too, but is NOT a swimming beach. Very steep and under tows. There are lots of beautiful rocks to rummage through for jade, jasper, and agate. The best beach is Moonstone Beach. The boardwalk along the cliff above the beach is perfect for an easy stroll and dogs are allowed. The beach does NOT allow dogs. There were lots of surfers and sea life was abundant. We even saw dolphins in the waves. The town of Cambria is essentially split into two sections, both very cute. Access to fun activities is easy, both north and south.

  This trip was our second stay @ 555 Lancaster. This home is in a great location. Two easy blocks from Fiscalini Ranch Preserve.
  The home is clean, though starting to show a little wear. Master bed is super comfortable and you will get a great nights sleep. Open the window a little and you can hear the waves crash.
  If you enjoy cooking, make sure to bring your own spices and whatnot. Also bring a knife or two.
  Make sure to notice the sunsets from the deck. They are gorgeous.

The house was nice, although some of the furniture was a bit old. It was clean and neat although cleaning crew missed a few spots. Several lights were out as well which should have been checked. Location was excellent, near beautiful walking trail, Shamel Park, Moonstone Beach and less than a mile to town. Also neighbors were very friendly. We enjoyed it enough to rebook another stay next April...

  We always enjoy our stay there. We found ants in the pantry, but we used some ammonia on the selves, and that took care of that. The pull out neck on the kitchen faucet is broke, so it doesn't snap back into place. The couch is so soft, you feel like you're sitting on the floor. But it is so quiet and peaceful, you have to love it. You can hear the breeze whisper through the trees and every bird chirp. It's close enough to hear the ocean at night. It's a good home away from home house.

  We very much enjoyed our stay-- the house was the perfect base for long walks and hikes. We appreciated having the kitchen- with good quality pans for cooking (visited during COVID and we wanted to avoid restaurants). House was very clean when we arrived. Since it was just two of us (a couple) so we used the top floor primarily and the layout worked out well for us. The space would be good if we had kids with us (two bedrooms downstairs plus the spare tv room).

  Comfortable beds, spacious floor plan, casual feel and well equipped kitchen made this home perfect for our family's thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings. Lots of space to spread out for board games, cards, art or making meals. Movie night was fun too ! Perfect location to take nightly walks along the beach. We hope to be back soon.

  Our family of 4 stayed at the house for a week ending in early October 2020 and we loved it! The neighborhood is super quiet and also it's a very good location, near the beach. On a clear day you can see the ocean from the upstairs windows. It's close enough to hear the ocean rolling in too if you leave the windows open. The master bedroom is upstairs and the other two bedrooms are downstairs. We slept upstairs, and our kids slept downstairs. That worked out well for us, but if you have toddlers, this might not be the house for you. The house was surprisingly well stocked with most everything you'd need (aside from food). The furniture's a little dated, but it's good enough. We were very comfortable -- the house was very clean and the coffee maker worked well too. (I saw other reviewers complain about these issues, but the property managers must've fixed them before our arrival. No issues here.) Our kids were sad to leave. We would absolutely stay at the house again!

  Jone (CVR) is very sweet and easy to talk with. Although CVR listened and made ammends, the house was filthy (deep cleaning issues) and not well maintained, carpet old and dark dirt tracks throughout and much more. Found some dirty coffee cups in cupboards, too. Its too bad, because location was nice and neighbors were very quiet, so peaceful. Moldy downstairs too.

  There were only 2 of us that stayed here so we spent our time upstairs. There is plenty of room for a larger group, but the neighbors are pretty close by so if you can hear them, they can hear you. The house has an open concept, big kitchen, fast internet service and located in a quiet area. You can hear the ocean, but unfortunately there are too many trees surrounding the outside patio area that your ocean view is more of a peek-a-boo view. You’re walking distance to Fiscalini Ranch where you can explore the Forest and get some awesome views of the ocean. We’ve been coming to Cambria for many years so this was a new trail experience exploring the upper regions of Fiscalini Ranch. Like other homes we have rented, it could use some updates. We did tell the property management about a few minor things that needed attention so hopefully it was done before the next guests arrived. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay.

  We love staying in Cambria as we have for over a decade. Cambria Vacation Rentals has the best options plus they are super nice. We live in Napa Valley and twice have retreated to the 555 Lancaster St. property. It is quite spacious and the master bedroom and bath are great. We don't have kids, but the two downstairs bedroom would be perfect for a family since it has a small den and a bathroom. We love our time in Cambria.

  The house was very well equipped with coffee maker, dishes, pans, etc. The sunlight was very nice and the upstairs is very spacious. It was disappointing that there was a huge,overgrown pine tree in the neighbors yard behind the house. It blocked the some pristine views of the ocean. When sitting out on the patio, that's all we could really see -an ugly pine tree! Also, the tree seemed like a fire hazard because telephone lines were tangled in it. Maybe the owners or Cambria vacation rentals can ask the neighbor to trim it back. It is truly an eyesore in such a wonderful spot.

  The house was quite pleasant. The kitchen was well equipped (although a sharper knife would have been nice) the furniture was comfy as were the beds. All in all well worth the fee. We wish that the entry way had had a working light and that the huge and beautiful Master bath's shower had had a non-skid matt. These are just very minor quibbles, though. We liked the house.

  555 is a comfortable house. Easy evening walking and lots of deer to watch. This time the lower floor smelled musty because the dehumidifier had not been used prior to our arrival - easily rectified. Nice kitchen, full dining room. After 6 stays we will be back for more enjoyable unwind time in Cambria.

  Pros and Cons:
  
  - Location is good and this house is one of the relatively newer, nicer homes in the community.
  
  - We enjoyed the upstairs open floorpan with vaulted ceilings, lots of natural light from many windows and a master bedroom on the same floor. The bed was firm but moderately comfortable. Nice master bath.
  
  - Two zero-gravity type chairs were very comfortable. We sat and read. Never watched TV even once.
  
  - The property management company was kind enough to turn OFF the WiFi before arrival so we had less Microwave RF Radiation that interferers with sleep quality (google: "Physicians for Safe Technology"). This is a huge advantage over any hotel in town--being able to turn OFF the WiFi so you're not getting radiated all night.
  
  - Like Manhattan Beach, you can look out and see your nearby neighbors and they can see you. Hello to the nice lady with the bathrobe, cup of coffee and dog across the way.
  
  - PROBLEM: Mold or Mildew: We could not use the downstairs bedrooms because of the unpleasant, musty smell. Actually took a picture of the green stuff in a downstairs bathroom ceiling exhaust fan that indicatives a problem that requires the help of a Building Biologist. This was disappointing because one of us snores and we were counting on using more than one bedroom. FOR THIS REASON, VALUE WAS NOT RECEIVED FOR PRICE PAID.
  
  - SAFETY ISSUE: the concrete slab just below the garage door is uneven in elevation and a brightly colored line should be painted across that area so people don't trip or twist an ankle. My wife & I both stepped on the uneven area and almost went down.
  
  - MAINTENANCE: Overall OK, but several window screens have holes. One or two of the chairs have very noticeable tears in the upholstery. The living room sofa is so spongy that it needs re-padding. CFL light bulbs should be removed for many reasons.

  We had a great stay there. Everything was neat and clean. Location was better than I thought. You do have views of the ocean and can hear it at night. It was nice having a garage to park in. A larger TV with a sound bar would be nice. And maybe a TV in the master bedroom. Other than that, it was perfect. Great curb appeal. We watched the fireworks from the deck on July 4th. What more can you ask for? We will be back.
