  I love this house on Moonstone Drive. I’ve been renting it on and off for the last 20 years. Though the house is dated and needs some improvements (ex. missing screen doors, screen doors fall off tracks, some slider doors don’t open easily, TV is tiny, etc.) it’s location just can’t be beat. Beds are comfortable and views amazing!

  Gorgeous view from a cute little beach house. Loved seeing all of the wildlife. Deer, raccoons, a fox with a dispatched ground squirrel in his mouth, beautiful shore birds, etc. Even the turkey vultures are fascinating to see in such close proximity.

  5768 Mooonstone Bch Dr is our go to vacation home when we visit Cambria. It's all about location, location, location. The view of the ocean is mesmerizing The sound of the waves crashing is meditative. Watching the sunset while walking the dog on the boardwalk was memorable. The house had everything we needed. Sure it could use some upgrades. The property management company is top notch.

  To start, we understand that everyone's expectations for a vacation rental are different, and that we all have different standards. Also- we had an idea of what this place would be like based on the photos and reviews, but we decided to give it a shot based on price and availability. We just felt it is necessary to leave our honest thoughts for people to consider. Not all will agree, and others have clearly loved this property. THE GOOD: Incredible location with 180-degree view of the coast. Ample space for two couples to spread out. Pet friendly and our doggies loved it. THE BAD: Overall the property is not just dated, it is in need of a deep clean and fix-up. The sliding doors were hard to open and the screens kept falling off the tracks. The toilet would hiss and run for 1/2 hour after it was flushed. I had to fix the fireplace pilot to get it working. Several slats were broken and/or missing from the 1980's blinds. The provided Keurig coffee maker doesn't work, and the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and dishes dissuaded our plans to cook some of our meals. The beds, pillows and linens were uncomfortable. Overall everything feels worn and in need of a remodel, with chips, nicks, stains and oddities everywhere. A lived-in cozy feel is one thing- but finding random clothes and shoes in the closet, and drawers stuffed full of junk in the kitchen ultimately makes you feel like you are crashing at a friends uncle's house, not paying $300 a night for a vacation rental. A lot of potential for this place if it just got cleaned up and a well thought-out beachy/modern face lift.

  We always love the view of Cambria Moonstone and have stayed in numerous other VRBO’s for the last 40 years.! Cambria is our go to place when we consider a relaxing no rush environment. The weather was perfect.
  There is some disappointment in this particular home’s condition. I am not the type to bring up some basic maintenance issues but for the money spent for cleaning costs but here it is. This rental was in need of maintenance on doors, locks, lighting, deep cleaning throughout.
  I realize this is someone’s home not a motel, but when you vacation on the Pacific Ocean just off the beach you have to expect your stay to be comfortable.

  This was our second stay here, the management is always quick to respond to any inquiries. The house is clean and well stocked with dinning and cooking supplies, and was clean.
  We love that the ocean is right across the street and enjoyed much of our time BBQing and enjoying the view from the patio! This place is a perfect location, you have Morro Bay, and the Cayucos pier 20 mi in one direction, and Ragged point, Hearst Castle and the Elephant Seals in the other, all not more than 30 minutes away with a spectacular drive, the scenery is absolutely breath taking! Moonstone beach main street (across from the house) offers a wood planked walking path along the entire beach line, which again has incredible views along the way.
  My husband and I hope to be back again for our anniversary next year!
  OH!! I also want to comment on the view from the front room, as you can see all the windows take you to the ocean, everything here was perfect!

  Although the place is very dated the view was very nice. The place was basically clean however it reeked of a urine smell. My guess, is it pet urine in the rugs. We had to open all windows and spray room deodorizer several times a day. As well we burned candles to help reduce/cover up the smell. For this reason I would not rent this place again.

  We came up for 10 days and had some friends join for one of the weekends and they want to come back and rent at some point. Place is very cozy but a little dated, we would stay again. We did have have to clean the front windows which looked like haven't been done in a very long time, it was distracting the beautiful view but a simple fix, attention to details go a long ways, something you shouldn't have to do on your first day of vacation. Wished the TV for at night would of have been bigger to watch movies on especially on the two nights of the storm, other then that we had a Wonderful time, Definitely would come back and recommend!
  PS..Unfortunately the city should complain about the hoarders house next door, it's a eye sore to the other neighbors.

  Great property, we enjoyed it. Cant beat the view and location. It was difficult to see at night while walking to the car. There is a motion light but that's after you navigate uneven ground and steps. Just be sure to bring a flashlight or lantern with you. Fyi,the mini blinds in the living room dont go all the way down. Also the tv sound sometimes goes out. The beds were comfortable, internet worked great, and our dogs loved it. We definitely look forward to staying again in the future.

This cozy home, with an amazing access to the walking path and beach, was just what we needed. We took a meal service box that had a complete Thanksgiving meal, and did some basic grocery shopping in town.   We veer much enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage with an ocean view.
  The cottage provided a step back n time. Although surfaces were aged, the kitchen was well equipped. The yard is large for the neighborhood. But the big draw is the ocean view and prime location. We walked to fine dining. The home sits at the middle of the beach boardwalk. The rental office team was very efficient.

  we have used cambria vacation rentals several times and thay are top notch. this unit we have used several times and is in need of many up grades ie beds, tv and realibilty. BBQ, sliding doors, window blinds etc.etc! the rear entrance is a accident waiting to happen with no railing to assist guest or elderly people the possibility of slipping and falling is sure libability to the owners for lack of safety.

  During our first vacation for this year we stayed at the 5768 Moonstone Beach home we celebrated my wife's birthday and we absolutely had a great time it was fortunate that we had the restaurants open up Madelines the sea chest and walk across the beach to enjoy the ocean with our pets, The view was perfect for what we needed to do and we enjoyed this location very much could use a little update here in there and repairing the screen sliding doors would've made it much more pleasant but it was a great place to enjoy the ocean on Cambria Beach we are planning to book another time this year there with my wife's parents and as always Joanne and Heidi were the best agents with Cambria vacation rentals thank you see you soon

  The location is wonderful, cleaning is surface only, we had to clean windows to see out of them, and the slider tracks need a good cleaning to operate sliders they were difficult to operate, without screens falling out. Sheets and towels are very worn. Furniture comfortable, not a problem to bring your own linen. It was so fabulous I booked again for the next month. The property management is attentive and easy to reach. I would describe as funky cool and very comfortable, did I say the views are fabulous, YES.

  Very rustic, you can’t tell there are stairs up the bedrooms and bathroom. Please add to the description of the property. We would not have rented this property as we both have disabilities.
  But really enjoyed the stay.
  Suggestion, you might want to leave a note that we should not leave any outside lights on, the neighbor stated the lights go directly into his bedroom.

  Have stayed here 6+ times. Property continues to deteriorate. Old furniture. (new couch, however), splintering on the wooden chairs, and laminated seats deteriorating. Worn-through spots on the faux leather chair, and flat padding. Entire house needs deep cleaning. Love the location, front garden, view, but will rent somewhere else from now on.

  I have been using Cambria Vacation Rentals for years and have found them very professional and helpful. The property at which we stayed was very comfortable and had a great view of the ocean. It was also nice to find a rental that had few stairs as I have arthritis in my hip that prevents me from climbing too many stairs. I will continue to use Cambria Vacation Rentals in the future when ever I stay in Cambria.

  Location! Location! Right across Moonstone Beach dr from beach. Beautiful views from patio and living space.

  Best thing for me is that this house has an awesomely stocked kitchen. Super quiet area. Nice to have a W/D room.
  This was our third visit and we wish they'd do a few much needed upgrades. The large area rugs in the living room, and the ones in both bedrooms are terribly worn out and dirty.

  Great! We love this little cabana by the beach. It's a great get-away from the Central Valley heat! It's a perfect location for walking on the boardwalk along the ocean or taking a stroll to the Sea Chest for a great dinner!
